June was named for Juno, the Roman goddess of fertility and the hearth. While no longer the most popular month for weddings, it’s still in the top three. It is traditionally considered lucky to marry in June.

On the 21st, we officially usher in the summer season. Honor your father on June 17th, Father’s Day. Test your knowledge of the origins of Dad’s special day in Treehouse Games. Flag Day is not just another ubiquitous holiday. Did you know it is actually the celebration of the birthday of the flag of the United States? Remember one of our national symbols June 14th with a pledge of allegiance. Learn more about this holiday in Treehouse Trivia.

Did you know that Betsy Ross might not have actually designed the first U.S. flag? Brush up on your knowledge of our flag in In a Nutshell. Then you can figure out how to get organized electronically.
