With warmer temperatures here and vacation not far away, get in shape and enjoy the weather by hauling your bicycle out of storage. I used to ride a couple of miles a day on my bike when I was a teenager. Then I learned how to drive and I don’t think I have spent that much time on a bike since. Read In a Nutshell to learn tips on staying safe when you hit the road to mark National Bike Month. You can also brush up on Internet searches.

May also serves as Family Wellness Month. The goal is to encourage people to spend more time with their families and appreciate those closest to them. For more information go to www.WordsofWellness.com. This is also Get Caught Reading Month, which acts as a reminder to people of all ages of the joys of reading.

Stir up some mint juleps and place your bet on May 1. The Kentucky Derby was first run in 1875 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. If horses aren’t your thing, try reading a few nursery rhymes in honor of Mother Goose. Mother Goose Day also falls on May 1. A few days later, party with one of our country’s neighbors for Cinco de Mayo on May 5. The Mexican National holiday recognizes the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Remember your mother on May 9. The second Sunday in May is set aside to honor mothers. Then, take time May 31, to show your respects to our servicemen who have fallen in battle on Memorial Day.

Be sure to stop by Treehouse Games to match the quote to the speaker. Move on toTreehouse Trivia to read about unusual laws throughout the United States and things to avoid doing during a job interview.
