February conjures up visions of cuddling on the couch under a blanket with cups of cocoa. Maybe your visions lean toward hitting the slopes with a special someone. Whatever your dreams may be, here’s wishing they come true this month. 

To me February is a month of love and cold. Try adding a little warmth to your relationship during Relationship Wellness Month. The idea is to recapture the spark and zeal of personal relationships. When I think of love, I think of the heart. This is the time to do just that during American Heart Month. The goal is to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases. February also celebrates the history, culture and accomplishments of African Americans during Black History Month. Treehouse Trivia honors the lives of two outstanding African Americans, George Washington Carver and Ida B. Wells.   

Celebration of Love Week runs from Feb. 13 through 19. Not limited to couples, the focus is the importance of love in making the world a better place. A rodent will predict the length of winter on Feb. 2, Groundhog’s Day. The day is based on the belief that if the sun shines on Candlemas Day or if the groundhog sees his shadow when he emerges on this day, six more weeks of winter will ensue. A day for lover’s, Valentine’s Day arrives on Feb. 14. Finally, commemorate the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln on Feb. 21.
