Before I was born, my mother tells me, my name was to be Margaret Elizabeth. She’s not really clear how she came up with the name she did give me, but it’s one of which to be proud. Shout about your name on Middle Name Pride Day on March 10. Or you can just tell three people who don’t know what it is, as the sponsors of the day suggest.

Another type of pride comes to the forefront on March 17. While the day commemorates the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick, it is more commonly known for Irish pride, celebration, green beer and parades.

Also during March, International Ideas Month encourages people to share their ideas and get them out in the world. The goal of International Listening Awareness Month is to learn more about the impact of listening on all human activities. In addition, showing people how to use humor to deal with the challenges of life drives International Mirth Month.

Go to In a Nutshell to find out what the Ides of March really means and how to break bad habits. Test your word power in Treehouse Games, then visit Treehouse Trivia to learn the history of windshield wipers and what led to the invention of the telephone.
