Formerly known as Armistice Day, Veterans Day (Nov. 11) honors those who have served in the military. Additionally, on this day in 1918, the Allies signed a cease-fire agreement with Germany, ending World War I.

Two days later on Nov. 13, World Kindness Day encourages everyone to join together to form a kinder and more compassionate world. For ideas on what you can do in your community, visit www.actsofkindess.org.

Then on Nov. 23, break out the sweet potatoes and turkey. It’s time for Thanksgiving. I know a few of the things for which I will be thankful are the delicious food and family time. Take a few moments to think about your life and express your gratitude.
